WHAT IS NEM (NET ENERGY METERING)?
NEM or Net Energy Metering is a mechanism for you to use solar energy that you produced for your own consumption. The excess energy generated will be exported to TNB grid and will be turned to credit that may be used to offset part of the electricity bill. Visit www.seda.gov.my for more information
HOW DOES SOLAR PV SYSTEM WORK?
Solar PV system works by converting irradiance from solar to electricity.
1. Solar panels will convert photons from the sun into Direct Current electricity (DC).
2. The inverter then converts DC electricity into Alternating Current (AC) for use in our house.
3. Electricity generated by the solar PV system reduces our consumption from TNB grid. Hence, we will see the overall reduction in our electricity bills.
HOW DO WE MAINTAIN SOLAR PV SYSTEM?
Malaysia is blessed with rain all year round. Rain will wash away the dirt on the solar PV system. Nonetheless, we recommend periodic inspection by solar service provider to ensure all in good condition.
IS THE SOLAR PV SYSTEM SAFE?
We cannot emphasize more on the importance of choosing qualified solar PV installer. Quality material, good installation and maintenance ensure that your solar PV system is safe. In addition, please ensure only solar experts handle your solar PV system.
HOW LONG DOES THE SOLAR PV SYSTEM LAST?
Typical life span of solar pv panels is 25 years or more and 5 to 10 years for the inverter. Typically, the manufacturer will guarantee performance of the solar pv panels for 25 years. This guarantee however, does not cover poor performance due to damages such as vandalism, hail or theft. The guarantee also does not cover poor workmanship. Hence, it is important that you choose good and reliable solar installer. Do check out TNB solar solutions for your home, office or business.
